As you know, ginger has a very strong flavor. If you take a small piece of candied ginger while drinking tea, it is a pleasure. But if you are hungry and you eat quickly ten times bigger piece of candied ginger, it is a living hell. But if it happens to someone else than you, it is fun :-D If you have slices of candied ginger, ask your friends: “Would you like some dried pineapple?” If you have cubes of candied ginger, ask your friends: “Would you like some dried papaya?”
